HONG KONG, April 24, 2020 – Blockchain software publisher Block.one announced today the EOSIO Virtual Hackathon “Coding for Change,” which will launch on May 1, 2020, and calls for solutions using blockchain technology to solve new challenges in the post-COVID-19 world.
As communities struggle to get back on their feet after the devastation of the global pandemic, they face the unique challenge of rebuilding and restoring lives and livelihoods. Humanity urgently needs new answers for the new normal, including reliable digital infrastructures that provide access to all, and are resilient in the face of a crisis.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has abruptly shifted our daily routines, but great innovation and change are often born from times of unprecedented hardship,” said Brendan Blumer, Block.one’s CEO. “Through Coding for Change, we are excited to work with the community to play a part in leveraging EOSIO technology to address and solve for the lasting impacts that coronavirus will have on how we all live, work and even play.”
